Meet Our Doctors
Hi, I’m Dr. Anna Reading
Dr. Reading is the proud owner of Horizon Veterinary Care and an active veterinarian in the practice. She opened Horizon Veterinary Care in January of 2023 to meet the growing need for veterinary care in our community, especially the need for locally-owned, independent, non-corporate practices. Each of her patients is personal and treasured. She has a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond, and in fact, became a veterinarian after the unexpected loss of her dog Zoe altered the trajectory of her life . She graduated from Cornell University in 2012 and has been practicing in Vancouver since 2014.
In her time outside of work, Dr. Reading enjoys relaxing with her husband (Craig), daughter (Lily), dog (Nico), and cats (Gerald and Carlos). In nice weather on weekends, she is usually found outside in the garden.
Hi, I’m Dr. Malia Haddock
Dr. Haddock was raised in the life of veterinary medicine. Her Dad had a mixed-animal practice in Kailua, and she spent many years riding around in the back of her Dad’s truck going on calls. Her family relocated to the Battle Ground during middle school, and Dr. Haddock returned to practice in the area after becoming a veterinarian herself and graduating from UC Davis in 2010.
Dr. Haddock loves all aspects of medicine, from routine puppy/kitten visits to complex and chronic illness cases. She approaches her patient with genuine care, thoroughness, and a calm and gentle demeanor. She lives in a log cabin in the woods with her indoor cat Kevin, her outdoor cat Red Devil, her husband Jake, and a host of deer.
